The Nest Okotoks | July 17-21

Ages 8-14

Drop off time: 8:30 am Pick up time: 4:00pm

Cost: $285.00

Girls will have an opportunity to dive deep into their yoga practice, build meaningful connections, and explore various forms of self expression through art, reflection, and dance. The Nest is in close proximity to many of Okotoks parks and pathways, and a short walk to the river. Students will have the opportunity to get outside on beautiful summer days for nature walks, group activities, and journaling.

CAMP CHECK LIST:

Campers will be required to pack their own lunch, two healthy snacks, and water bottle

Campers are encouraged to bring their own yoga mat (extra mats can be provided if needed)

Abstract Canvas Art: A Workshop with local artist Jill Paddock where she will be teaching her signature 'Abstract Stripes' style on canvas. Using palette knives, get into a creative flow as you scrape paint back and forth, building up layer upon layer of colour & texture. Check her out at www.jillpaddock.com or @jillpaddock.art

Lava Lilly Designs, Gratitude Mala Bracelets: This 90-minute hands on workshop led by Chelsie Deschamps, owner of Lava Lily Designs offers guidance on how to practice gratitude and cultivate self love. Each participant will reflect on and fill out a personal gratitude and intention setting worksheet. In the second part of the workshop, she will lead participants in the creation of their own personalized gratitude bracelet. Each creation will be built as a reminder with the intention for you to breathe and be grateful.

Ignite your strength through movement with Dare Girls: 

Dare Girl YYC will be running a full day session that integrates fitness, body awareness, and mentorship for girls to learn who they are, and what they are capable of in their lives. Dare Girl teaches strength basics, mindfulness, goal-setting, and leadership using self reflection exercises and creative fitness activities,  that will keep the girls challenged and having fun! The program shows girls that strength comes from within, and they are capable of anything they dream!"

Ivviva: The Ivviva team will be guiding youth through a dream & goals session, supporting youth in transforming their dreams into a tangible reality by getting clear on how they will achieve their goals.

Caitlyn Tink: Join Caitlyn Tink for a high energy hip hop class, exploring various forms of this urban styledance to sweet beats. No dance experience necessary, just an open mind. Caitlyn currently coaches at Centripetal Force Baton Studio, where she is in her second year of running the dance program. Caitlyn danced competitively for 10 years traveling across Alberta, BC, and states in the US including Disney.

Ashley Goethals: Ashley will be guiding a two hour dream catcher workshop at Camp, students will have the opportunity to expand their imagination and get creative as they build their very own dream catcher.

 
Yes, I did like it! My favourite activity was when we played the game near the end where either Heather or Jamie said a sentence starter like “I cry when…” and then we all went around in the circle to describe our answer. I liked getting to know everyone, especially since was the first session I’ve attended. I found out a lot about my peers, and realized I could relate to them a lot more than I was expecting!
